DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A RULE-BASED SYSTEM FOR NEUROLOGICAL DISORDERS: INTEGRATING A PERSONALIZED JSON RULE EDITOR INTO THE LETHE DASHBOARD
Kurzfassung / Abstract: Making decisions is an essential part of human life, both in a personal and professional context. This process can often be complex and challenging, as it required weight up different options and considering potential consequences. Especially in areas such as healthcare, decisions are particularly sensitive as they have a direct impact on the wellbeing and health of patients. It is important to make informed and thoughtful but also evidence-based decisions in order to achieve the best possible outcomes. A structured decision-making process supported by systems and tools can help to increase the quality of the decisions made. Knowledge-based systems can support clinicians in this decisionmaking process. These knowledge-based systems use logical rules to generate suggestions that guide the clinicians. The aim of this master thesis is to design a rule-based system and implement it in a system for neurological diseases. Different strategies were used to derive a dynamic and adaptable knowledge base from rules. By integrating a rule editor, users are given the ability to create customized decision criteria, which improves the decision-making process in the clinical setting. The process from the creation of a dynamic form, through the connection to the database, to the creation, modification and deletion of individual rules and the final result with all its functionalities, is describes in detail.
